Hypoxia
Hypoxia occurs when the tissues in the body
do not receive enough oxygen. The symptoms of hypoxia vary with
the individual. Hypoxia can be caused by several factors, including
an insuffi-cient supply of oxygen, inadequate transportation
of oxygen, or the inability of the body tissues to use oxygen.
The forms of hypoxia are divided into four major groups based
on their causes; hypoxic hypoxia, hypemic hypoxia, stagnant
hypoxia, and histotoxic hypoxia.
